The launching of the Carrefour Jeunesse network throughout Quebec. The Carrefours Jeunesse Emploi have the mission to accompany and guide young adults aged between 16 and 35 years in their social and economic insertion. They are intended to provide services in job search, a resumption of studies, or in business start up. The services and activities are meant to improve the general living conditions of today’s youth.

Incorporation of the CJE NDG Founded in 1998, the Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi NDG is a non profit organization which has as mission the socio-professional integration of young adults into Quebec’s society. The CJE principally serves the youth between 16 and 35 years old residing in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Côte St- Luc, Hampstead, and Montreal West. We offer a variety of services that are bilingual and absolutely free, notably in social reintegration, job search, return to school, and entrepreneurship awareness. Our dynamic team works in collaboration with neighborhood partners to ensure that our innovative projects guarantee the success of young job seekers.

The CJE NDG moves because of the growth due to the addition of new services and projects like “Solidarité Jeunesse”.

The entrepreneurship service is introduced for a period of 5 years with the goal of making the youth aware of entrepreneurship.

Two other services come forth: Youth in Action and IDEO 16-17.The original programme Solidarité Jeunesse is replaced by the revamped programme Youth in Action. This programme of pre-employment is designed for young adults 18 to 24 years old who have obstacles that prevent them from immediately integrating the job market. IDEO 16-17 is part of the strategy of youth mobilization 2006-2009 that offers an alternative to welfare via remaining in school. The CJE enters into a partnership with the Table Jeunesse NDG having as goal community planning.

The CJE NDG along with its partner the CJE CDN hold a job and training fair that brings together for 4 years more than 50 exhibitors each year and a total of more than 2,500 participants.

The CJE NDG is 10 years old and commemorates the event and by thanking our partners and people who have supported our mission. We hold a community picnic attended by more than 150 people. The CJE NDG is proud of its accomplishments year in year out, aimed towards meeting the needs of young adults while adapting to their expectations so that we can accompany them in their future endeavors. The entrepreneurship service is renewed indefinitely.

In 2011 the CJE NDG opens new horizons by putting in place its first international project. “Citizens of the World” team organizes the Costa Rican project. The project “ Get Green” sees the day in collaboration with the “ Table Jeunesse” and financed by Service Canada. We also started up our very own Youth Coop called “ Green Thumb”. The CJE NDG extends employment services to people over 35. The core employment services for the clientele 35 and under surpasses the magic figure of 10,000 participants.

Another international project takes place – this time in Belgium.

M4E – a project for young entrepreneurs with Germany is carried out with the support of LOJIQ ( L’Office Jeunesse International du Québec ) Between 2001 and 2013, the CJE NDG has achieved a multitude of projects to encourage the socio-professional integration of young Quebec adults: 2 summer internships in conjunction with the city of Montreal that brought together one hundred participants, and two employment projects especially tailored for immigrants ( je m’ integer en français and Quebec Pluriel ).
