Project and job objectives:
The Community Service Worker for Digital and Media Literacy supports Atwater Library’s outreach and delivery of digital literacy services in the communities we serve. The Atwater Library is directly involved in promoting the development of the official language minority group in Montreal through promoting English-language libraries and community services that are not readily available through other institutions.
The Connect Project is one facet of the services we offer to our community. We design and deliver free digital literacy workshops to adult beginner learning groups. This position will regularly interface with the public in responding to technology needs in-person, online, or in a hybrid environment. The candidate will work with patrons to enhance their digital skills and abilities to ensure they are able to access critical online information and services to work towards digital independence.

This position is supervised by the Connect Project Coordinator and requires on site hours and some travel in the community. The hours for this position are 35 hours per week. Some scheduling flexibility is available and this position will require some virtual responsibilities. The successful candidate should be willing to complete a criminal background check.

The Connect Project is one facet of the services we offer to our community. We design and deliver free digital and media literacy workshops to adult beginner individuals and learning groups. The Digital Literacy Facilitator supports Atwater Library’s outreach and delivery of digital and media literacy services in the communities we serve.

Digital Literacy Facilitator:
The primary purpose of the Digital Literacy Facilitator is to equip learners with basic digital and media skills, answer questions, and provide encouragement. They will assess participant needs and adapt existing digital and media literacy training resources.

Learning sessions, whether one-on-one or in a group context, include explanations and demonstrations across different devices. The candidate will offer general troubleshooting and support to help ensure participants are able to access critical online information and services to work towards digital independence.

This position will regularly interface with the public in responding to technology needs in person, online, or in a hybrid environment. This position requires some on site hours, travel within the community, and virtual responsibilities.

This position is supervised by the Connect Project Coordinator. Some scheduling flexibility is available. Join us as a part-time Digital Literacy Facilitator!

CIBC has embarked on an Agent@Home remote work program and all employees may be given the opportunity to work from home (after the 4 weeks training), if you can meet the Agent@Home program requirements. As an Identity Theft Response officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of service to both external and internal customers consistent with CIBC’s vision of winning customer loyalty through service excellence. You’ll use extensive analytical ability, resolve all complex problems relating to Fraud Applications, Account Takeovers, Convenience Cheques, and Payments referred by other areas of CIBC or other external sources as well as from our monitoring systems.

Please note that the start date is March 10th, 2022 and it's a full time Overnight permanent position.
