Call for sustainable mobility projects

The mobility of people and goods is a major challenge for economic and sustainable development, as well as for the vitality of businesses.

To meet the challenges of mobility, PME MTL Grand Sud-Ouest is launching a call for projects to stimulate the implementation of innovative solutions and promote the ecological transition.

Are you a Quebec-based private company, NPO, cooperative or social economy enterprise? Do you have a project that promotes the use of active, collective or sustainable transportation?

Receive financial assistance ranging from 5,000 to 50,000$ by submitting your project before September 15, 2023.

Eligibility criteria

Applicant :

  • Be a private company, non-profit organization (NPO), cooperative or social economy enterprise.
  • Have its head office or an establishment in Quebec.

Project :

  • The project must target all or part of the LaSalle, Sud-Ouest or Verdun boroughs. In the case of projects covering a larger area, only expenses that have an impact on these territories will be eligible.
  • The project must be completed within 12 months of the date of signature of the financial assistance agreement or loan letter. Exceptions are possible for structuring projects.
  • All documents submitted by applicants to the program must be written in or translated into French.
  • The project must have an economic purpose (e.g. to promote access to a business). Projects with exclusively social or community objectives are therefore not eligible. Don't hesitate to Contact us to validate the eligibility of your project.

Objectives and examples of eligible projects

The aim of the call for projects is to encourage the use of active or public transport and to promote the sustainable transport of goods. More specifically, the objectives of the call for projects are to :

  • Increase the use of alternatives to the car;
  • Reduce congestion;
  • Reduce GHGs;
  • Improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists;
  • Encourage the use of technological or social innovations to meet these objectives.

Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to

  • Offer an ecological delivery service by acquiring cargo bikes.
  • Decarbonize business travel (service visits, logistics, etc.) by acquiring or leasing electric road vehicles.
  • Reduce GHG emissions by acquiring and integrating technology to optimize delivery routes.
  • Provide bicycle parking (indoor or outdoor) and showers.
  • Subscribe to a platform and implement a car-sharing program for employees.
  • Deploy a campaign to encourage bicycle use, including, for example, the organization of a tune-up workshop, educational activities and the installation of a bicycle repair station.

Type of financial assistance

The financial assistance requested per project must be between 5,000 $ and 50,000 $ and may not exceed 75 % of total eligible project expenditure.

Cumulative financial assistance from government sources cannot exceed 80 %.

For NPOs, not-for-profit cooperatives and social economy enterprises, financial assistance will take the form of a non-repayable contribution.

For private companies, financial assistance will take the form of a repayable contribution (interest-free loan).

An applicant or group of applicants may submit a single request by call for projects.

Selection process

An evaluation committee will assess projects for consistency with program objectives, sustainability, innovation, potential spin-offs, cost justification and financial viability.
