The NDG CJE has always been a place where job seekers and the community meet in a stimulating way. In recent years, we have worked to strengthen our relationships with select employers to enable our clients to maximize their chances of entering the job market. In this way, we are able to create fruitful relationships that contribute to our clients' professional development while having an impact on local economic development. Inspired by the concept of speed-dating, speed-jobbing puts about 50 job seekers in contact with several employers at the same time for quick interviews. This activity takes place several times a year. Employers from the telecommunications, restaurant, and leisure sectors, financial companies, organizations from different neighborhoods, and employment agencies come together for these annual meetings!
48 Hours of Employment
As the title indicates, the 48-hour event allows volunteers and anyone interested to call on businesses in the neighbourhood to collect jobs and employers available in the area. Through a collaboration with multiple CJEs, we share these job offers with the general public. This event facilitates the hiring process for employers while providing volunteers with an introduction to telecommunications experience. Our volunteers are also guaranteed to be the first to discover the hidden market jobs.
Several networking activities have been organized for professionals or job seekers over the years. Virtual or face-to-face, we pride ourselves on building partnerships through collaborative workshops (presentation of the hiring process, current and important topics, gardening/cooking/yoga activities and much more!) No matter what form these meetings take, we aim to create inspiring moments of exchange for all those who participate.
