Cégep Sorel-Tracy and its Varennes campus are now offering introductory training in early childhood education. This training, which leads directly to college certification, is free of charge, is spread over 4 weeks and is taught by 100% remote.
‘’First steps in early childhood education’’ is a short, non-credited training course designed to introduce participants to the basic notions essential for working and quickly taking up jobs as unqualified educators. This training can also be part of an exploration and/or reorientation process, enabling participants to validate an interest in the field.
Target participant
ü Persons aged 18 and over
ü At least a secondary 3 general education diploma
ü A level 6 or higher in francization on the CCDMD test (échelle des compétences langagières québécoises)
ü No professional experience in the field of childhood education
ü Unemployed or able to work or have worked in the past in entry-level jobs (restaurant, supermarket, etc.) and would like to change fields
Duration : 4 weeks totalling 90h May 15 to June 9, 2023
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, 100% remote
Cost : Free, no registration fee This college certification is funded by the French Ministry of Higher Education (MES).
Includes CPR training, valid for 3 years.
