Jeune Conseil de Montréal - A helping hand for our call for candidates!

the Jeune Conseil de Montréal is a non-partisan municipal political simulation that has taken place every January at City Hall for the past 35 years. By taking on the role of city councillors, young people aged 18 to 30 take part in debates on important issues and meet other curious and committed individuals.

In order to have a cohort that is representative of Montreal's diversity, we are looking for young people from a variety of backgrounds, and we believe that your clientele might be interested in participating in our simulation and having the opportunity to come into contact with people interested in social issues and involved in their community. It's a great way to learn about networking and public speaking!

Here is some additional information (also available on jeuneconseil.org) :

This year, the simulation will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2023 and from Friday, February 3 to Sunday, February 5, 2023. Participants will debate the following draft regulations:

  • Affordable rental housing ;

  • Gender equity in public spaces;

  • The democratization of art and cultural professions;

  • Citizen jury committees.

To participate, people must :

  • be between 18 and 30 years old

  • live, work or reside in Montréal

There's no need for political experience or specific studies: it's really open to everyone! In fact, I'd say it's even more interesting to have a diversity of experiences and points of view.
