BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS

This training program aims to equip, support and propel the next generation of audiovisual entrepreneurs in Canada's French-speaking community. It was created to mitigate the under-representation of Aboriginal, Afro-descendant and racialized communities in media circles in Quebec and Canada.

The M-É-D-I-A- Coalition's initiative is highly relevant, as professionals from under-represented communities face numerous barriers to entering the audiovisual industry. For example: lack of funding, difficulty integrating the network of professionals and communicating with broadcasters and funding decision-makers. There are even marked reservations about their stories and projects.

Several industry players join forces to create a unique learning path. The uniqueness of this program lies in the strength of its support network, in access to the creative genius and knowledge of the best talents in Canadian and international industry, and in the connections that will last well beyond the training.
