A mentoring service for auto mechanics

We are pleased to announce that we will be participating in a new project on external mentoring. The aim of this project is to integrate the skills of the future into the mobilization of the technical skills of automotive mechanics through external mentoring.

As part of this project, the CSMO-Auto is joining forces with the Fédération des centers de services scolaires du Québec (FCSSQ), Formation Québec en réseau (FQR), Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) and the Direction de l'éducation des adultes et de la formation professionnelle (Ministère de l'Éducation) to ensure a coordinated, collaborative and concerted partnership.

The external mentoring project, also known as MENX, will offer a structured solution for both the apprentice and the company.

MENX will be offered by trainers from vocational training centers (CFPs). These trainers will broaden the scope of their interventions to also support the learner in the workplace.

Companies will also benefit from this new mentoring service, as it will enable them to take advantage of free external resources (PSC trainers) to support their workforce in integrating their skills.

External mentoring will be integrated into the AEP project in electric vehicle (EV) mechanics - Alternance travail-étude (ATE) formula. Certain participants enrolled in the AEP in EV mechanics will benefit from 3 hours of mentoring per week, for 12 weeks, on technical aspects and future skills, while receiving remuneration for their participation in this project.
