Construction vacations in Montreal, and throughout Quebec, generally take place during the last two weeks of July.
This annual event, known as the ”construction vacation”, began in 1970. It marks a period when most workers in the construction industry take their vacations, resulting in a significant slowdown in construction activity.
In 2024, the construction vacations are scheduled to start on July 21 and end on August 3.
