The Maison des Jeunes d'Outremont (MJO) is an association for young people and adults. It has
given the mission, on a voluntary basis, to host a lively meeting place where young people aged 12 to 18, at the

create and maintain a healthy, safe and welcoming environment for all young people and their families

Job description
Under the supervision and guidance of MJO management, the outreach worker's mandate is to
reach young people aged between 12 and 25 who live, study or work in the borough
of Outremont to offer them a listening ear, advice, referrals, guidance and support.

Main tasks
● Ensure a significant and continuous presence in the environments frequented by young people.
● Identify vulnerable young people and their needs, in order to build trust and a climate conducive to intervention.
● Offer local young people a free, personalized follow-up, welcome, support, information and referral service.
● Create links and work in partnership with local organizations, schools and businesses.
● Participate in meetings of various local and regional consultation bodies and work in collaboration with their members.
● Work closely with our current street youth worker and ensure complementary outreach activities.
● Work in collaboration with the MJO team, taking part in weekly team meetings, in
the organization's day-to-day operations and special activities.
● Ensure project follow-up (e.g. activity reports, accountability, annual reviews, etc.).
● Any other related tasks.

Working conditions
● 12-month full-time contract position: 35h/week*.
● Salary: 25$/hour.
● Flexible working hours: the work week can include evening and weekend work, and can occasionally be spread over more than 5 days.

● Hiring date: end of January 2026 (flexible)
